The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following personal information, which could be used to identify an individual:

  • name

  • home address

  • email address

  • contact telephone number

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • communication on club matters

  • organising rides and events

  • organising kit orders

  • general club management and administration

  • emergency contact

  • duty of care on club rides

  • promotion of club events, or the club in general

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following source:

  • Google Analytics

We use this information to:

  • better understand where visitors to our website were directed from

How we store your personal information

We take reasonable measures within our control to ensure that your data is secure and protected from unlawful and/or unauthorised access. The data is stored centrally using Google’s technology, and not made available to the wider club; only those in roles of responsibility, such as the club management and ride leaders, are granted access.

Do we share your personal information with third parties?

Chevaliers Cycling Club will not share personal information with third parties without consent, except:

  • where it is necessary to disclose such information to organisations such as British Cycling to enable them to administer races, league affiliation or membership

  • where we have a legal obligation to disclose the information, to protect the club’s legal rights or to prevent fraud

How long do we retain your personal information?

We will only hold information about you for as long as we need it for the purpose for which it was collected. As long as you remain a member of Chevaliers Cycling Club, or use the club’s forum, we will retain and process information about you. If you leave the club, we will delete all information about you within a reasonable period after you cease to be a member, subject to us retaining information to maintain records about our members’ achievements and any legal obligations to retain the information.
